How Mind Maps can be used further as a resource tool for this class BEYOND understanding articles.
ReplyDeleteSorry it took this long to post this. I meant how we can use mind maps for other things such as lit terms, other articles, lecture notes, etc. Of course, it would have been awesome to do one around American Literature. ;)
DeleteCompare and contrast a story you've read for a lit analysis to a story we've read in class. Use three examples of literary terms. If you've never read than right an essay explaining why you've never read a lit analysis book.
ReplyDeleteI think our essay topic should be about how people honestly feel about this class, and if they want to go back to text book.
ReplyDeleteI agree 110% with ashley
DeleteI would love to do this topic. We should also write about the tools we have learned in this class and how they have helped us outside of class. We should merge the vocabulary test into the essay. Write the vocabulary words in the essay. I think we should do this because it will show if we know how to use the word in a sentence.
Deletei second...third this idea!
DeleteI fourth the motion!!!
DeleteYes!
DeleteI think we should write about what we think the reason is to people not trying on their blogs or how they think they can improve or change the methods we use to help them and give examples on how they would do this.
ReplyDeleteWe could write about the pros and cons of a mind map.
ReplyDeleteWe could write about our high school experience.
ReplyDeleteI definately agree with the comments above. We should write about this class, and your teachers strategies, and why or why not people contribute to their blog and this one.
ReplyDeleteWe could write about that "Dream Within A Dream" poem. I enjoyed it a lot, made me think...sure I wasn't the only one.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should write about this class and how we feel , if we better understand this course by books or by blog, what is easier for us to better understand things.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone's comments, the topic should be to write about which teaching style they like better; blogs or books. And we should include why some people aren't contributing to our community and how we can encourage them to join.
ReplyDeleteAlso I think that when saying what teaching style they like better support it with examples of how what we have done so far has benefited your learning or not.
DeleteI agree with Mia's idea about why people don't try on the blogs and the online assignments. I would also like to see alot more ways to connect the topics, articles, and stories to things we can relate it like with the vocab remixes or the video demonstration about the David Guetta Movie that Uriel and I did.
ReplyDeleteHmm.. if i said what we should write about, people would hate me, soo we should write about how we feel about this class... :p
ReplyDeleteHi Lissette, no one here is a hater. (*And, if that is ever anyone's first reaction to anything here, please take a deep breath and remember we're just doing our best to understand the ideas and each other. Senza offesa. Mahalo.) So please feel free to offer your best idea. Always.
Deletewell i really liked the stories, and i think we should write about wich one was our favorite and what we learned from it, and what we would want to read in the future.
DeleteI completely agree with the comments above. We should write about the pros and cons of this class. Such as how it has affected us. Do we feel it's better than the book style. How are we able to keep up etc. Why or why aren't we doing the work and what can we do to make it better. Things of that sort.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with everyone else. I think we should write about weather or not we like how the class is now or how it usually is. This will give us what people think about the class.
ReplyDeleteIn class and now in the several comments above the idea came up to write about how we feel about this class. Like Ashley said though, we should all be completly honest and use examples of anything we like and dislike about the text book way, along with things we do not like or do like about this way of learning. Examples in our essay could be how each one helps our personal learning. I also like what Jasmine said about why or why not we are doing the work, and how either textbook style would help up do the work or how this way is helping us do the work.
ReplyDeletei think we should just write about legend of sleepy hollow. because i know not many people read the damn thing and i had to read it like 8 times. I like the idea about writing about the class and how mind maps might help. But i think we should stick with Sleepy hollow.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE MATT !!! :D
DeleteI like the comments above that had to do with what we feel about the course, and how its different from any other experience we've done with school. Also another topic I think would be cool to write about would be about out Big Question. We could write about why we chose it as our big question, why it's been on our mind, and how we think it could be answered.
ReplyDelete1.Literary devices used in the literary analysis book you are reading.
ReplyDelete2.Three things you get out of writing your blog and why?
3. Three effective ways to study vocab and why?
I really like the idea of weather or not you think the book or the blog way is better. I think that would make an interesting essay.
ReplyDeleteWhat if we did one on everyone's opinion of this new take on learning that we do in the class
ReplyDeleteWe should write about how we feel about the class, ^ like said above
ReplyDeleteI know that everyone is very gung-ho about writing how much we like/dislike/hate-with-the-passion-of-a-thousand-burning-suns the course so far, but I must say... I agree very much with Matt. Writing about "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" would be the best bet because it is (should)be very fresh in all our minds, so all we have to remember the literary devices so we can all sound intelligent. But that's just me.
